ABSTRACT
Design Thinking has emerged in the professional environment as a novel methodology and a potentially valuable practice for improving innovation outcomes in organizations designing products, services, or strategies. Likewise, it functions as a structured process for problem-solving; its practice and processes aim to bring design principles, methods, and tools to project management and business strategy. Design Thinking and Project Management are evolving rapidly as economic transformation processes advance within companies. They are anchored in best practices, methods, and tools, but they go beyond that operational perspective toward a global strategy. Through this research, we propose the design of an integrated model of both disciplines so that it can become part of the methodologies used by organizations to meet their strategic objectives. The model design will be supported by expert judgment, the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide 6th Edition PMI), and its integration with Design Thinking.
